  2. Kind of off the WOD a little secondary to massive snow. Roads closed, no school, offices closed, no work for me today. Todays WOD for Morey is shoveling a thousand pounds or more of snow, along w/ plowing much, much more. Will get a photo for tomorrow.

  3. Guys - right now while I am healing up I am doing 2 days on and 1 day off to allow the body a little more rest time. I might do this tomorrow, chin-ups don't hurt nearly as much as overhand grip pullups... and I'll sub rowing. Rowing hurts a little but not too bad. The shoulder was screaming yesterday even with subs cos' of wall ball and rowing, but is actually feeling a little better today. It's almost like working it "a little bit" is helping. I did about 10 sumos and 10 push press during warm up to see what it would feel like and it hurt so that's why I subbed. Bummed, cos I love FGB and wanted to score 300+ RX'd. Next time I WILL!!!

  4. Had a line at the pull-up bar this evening. So, I had to wait a while. But, I got this one in with no interruptions. My plan kind of backfired as well. I keep thinking I can maintain the same pace for the full workout. Anyway...

    6 Full Rounds
Treadmill Running: best (1st) lap at 1:34, worst lap was 2:10
Pull-ups went 18, 10, 10, 10, 8, 10 (knew I was on my last round so I hung on the pull-up bar until my hands gave out on the last set)

I don't envy you snow shovelers. Have fun.

  5. 5 rounds but rowing instead of running due to the snowfall and chill outside, also my kipping isn't that impressive, and I can't chain that many so I took Craig's suggestion from last time to bring each round up to 15 pu's even if assisted, to work on my pullups, otherwise this would have been mostly rowing. I can get 2 or 3 at a time, then I assisted by jumping into a kipping pullup, still with full range but with momentum from the jump as well. Did this for most of the sets. Got 5 rounds, 15, 15, 15, 15, 9. Looking forward to completely Rx on Pullup WODs. Made some progress, but hurt my shoulder at the start of March. It's back now, so I am back at it. I gave my bumb shoulder to Craig, what a trooper. :)

    Later,

    Edward

  6. Did the"virtual shoveling" wods help you guys shovel more? I decided to do todays wod with a 20lb vest. Sucks only because the one I wear is a little tight, challenging to breath. Got 5 rounds in with 25, 17, 17, 15, 15 total 89 had to share the pull up area slowed me down a little oh well. The vest makes things more fun. You Szafranski boys are bad ass. Way to rep the ill state, I'm from Mchenry You guys ever check out the Crossfit fire. Those guys are way cool nice gym. Mike nice numbers way to push it. Peace out

  7. Fletcher, Jacob here, just wanted to let you know the Pull-up & Ring Dip video is up a CFS blog, sorry for the delay. Oh and as far as my shoulder problems went, I actually think it was a combination of weighted pull-ups (no pain however afterwards) followed by sleeping on my shoulder funny at the FD that gave me all my problems. I just woke up and had pain, no strength restrictions, some mobility related pain, but it would wke me up out of dead sleep every time for about 2 weeks. Later...

  8. Guys - Jacob Szafranski posts his results on the main site as "jacobsz"... go back and look at some of his results on the main site, especially on the metcon WODs, they are SIIIIICK! Myles, Jacob is one of the guys you were talking about when I insisted that you make it to the games... and you said there are some crazy fit dudes out there that will come out of their garage gyms and take the games by storm.

I am volunteering at the regional qualifiers (just helping out with logistics, operations, etc.) so I get to see this machine of a man compete in person. I'll get vid, pics, and a sore throat cheering and post up on the blog.

Myles, Weaver, where are your FGB results? Who's got a 400+ score to post?

  9. Went and did Lynne over lunch today. Could've gotten another round in but one of the old-timers stopped me to talk. Felt too bad to tell him to just wait a couple of minutes.

    6 rounds w/ 14-7-8-6-6-9 = 50 total pull ups

    1:58 -20

Subbed rowing, as usual for running WODs. I figured out really quick that rowing sprints followed by pullups makes the pullups extremely difficult. My pullup numbers are a joke, but I haven't done hardly anything upper body for 2 1/2 weeks until today, allowing the shoulder to heal.

Rowed with damper set to 8. Figured out a sweet spot, damper at 8, strokes/min = 30, keeps me right at a 2 min/500M pace.

    7 rounds, pullups sucked: 15,6,6,10,10,10,10

    total pullups = 67
