Rest Day

Hey boys, how about some imspirational quotes?

Here's one: "What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." I don't know who said this...

Justin, Blogger only lets you upload image files for security reasons. They are worried about viruses, etc. But you can copy and paste parts of that Navy SEALS file in here, or just email it of course.

  1. I know that dude! Weaver, what is wrong with your back? Its all Lumpy. This kid is out of shape, by crossfit terms. The Lynne sub and pullups and dips has me hurtin. Been doing Crossfit Tijuana in the yard today. Enjoying the Ibuprofin and no pullups. ELK

  2. Didn't rest today cos' was forced to rest yesterday. I did a couple of P90X Plus videos just cos' I didn't know what else to do. The first one "Interval X Plus" is 41 minutes of calistenics intervals. It used to kill me, but CF has improved my lungs for sure. It was still a great workout but didn't spank me 1/2 as bad as it used to. Then I did a 20 minute abs/core workout.

I figured out exactly where my shoulder hurts... If I go a "wide" (like straight back) arm circle, like a swmming stroke, but I go back first and then come forward, it's that very movement where I feel a pop and the burning pain. If I do the same motion but start in the forward direction and then go back, it doesn't really hurt.. just barely. At least I have something to tell the PT person this coming week.

Got a buddy coming over tomorrow for a metcon WOD. I'll make something up that doesn't aggrevate my injuries. Actually did 30 chin-ups last night and that didn't hurt, so that is good. Overhand pullups do hurt the shoulder though. I'm gonna have my buddy do the Filthy 50. Not sure he'll like me anymore after that. But I am refilling my kegerator tonight... as a peace offering.

Been cutting way back on alcohol lately too. I set up some rules. At least two days a week with not a drop, never more than 4 in one night, and never more than 15 in a week. To you non-drinkers that sounds like nothing impressive, but this is about cutting my consumption in 1/2. First week I've been 100% disciplined on this, I'm actually ahead of schedule. Tonight is the last drinking night of the week and I'd have to have 4 1/2 to hit 15, but I think I'll just have 2, maybe 3. Hey, it's an improvement!

  4. Elkhorn: Good to see you post again.

WODoers: My dad is in town and yesterday we went out to meet this older outfitter and check out his small ranch. He's been outfitting for forty years, but he was serious weightlifter when he was a kid. He's 74 now and still has keeps his wieghts set up in his house, and a lot of trophies and medals. He said he doesn't do much lifting, but based on the terrain we covered and the fact he never ever breathed hard I think he was down playing it. Anyway, he's about five ten and weighed 198 in the early sixties. His best clean and jerk was 380# and his best snatch was 240#. He was named Mr. Greater Philadephia in 1963. He's a neat guy. Whenever I finally get my bumpers I think I'm definitely going to take them out to his ranch and have him give me some coaching pointers.
