Run 800, 10 rounds of pullups and dips, Run 800

  1. Had a new guest at the garage gym today, and as goes the tradition... we had to do Fight Gone Bad. I sucked, only scored 301. BUT - this was the first time I had done it with 10 foot wall ball target (cos of my rope climb chute) and I did no box jump step ups, did all jumps. rounds were 120, 91, 90... fell apart on rounds 2 and 3.

  2. What's up strangers? I am hitting it hard just different. Today though 5x5 shouler press got 145 on the last round then HELEN! Wow did she crush me today. I forgot how hard it is to run in the spring after a long winter 11:06, 1:10 off of pr. Need to start hitting the track after work again.

  3. Good to hear from you Justin. Here's a rule with your diversion from the main site... you have to do all HERO WODs! :-)

Guys, I heard that Mikko is not competing this year because he is having knee surgery.

  4. Did this today and it's a screamer.
I did weighted dips for the rings w/a 55# weight. I know rings are tough.. but I barely made it through using the weight I did. Pull ups were equally brutal. Doing both types of exercises definitely taxed me as this went along and kicked my ass. I felt really out of shape stringing 2-3 pullups at a time the last 3-4 sets. I also couldn't get the 2nd 800 meters in under 4 minutes. Actually, I think it was 4:30? Something like that. This one made me feel like a huge puss.
    TT 25:30

  5. Hey guys. Man I am always jacked aren't I? My shoulder is progressing very slow. I did ring dips in the first 15 reps (round and a half)... but it was painful so I switched to deep ring pushups. For me, a nice deep ring pushup is the same level of effort as a ring dip, Even Steven. For the runs I did 400M run + 500M row. TT 23:35. Tough one, just like we like it.

And now for a little Bible verse for you Heathens out there. I have this one on my wall in the garage gym... it inspires me.

    1 Peter 5:8–9

"We also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit."

I was wiped out after the run. I did the in 3 minutes something. really sprinted it. The first 5 sets I had to take a lot of rest. I felt better the second 5. I also started doing kipping pullups for the last 4 sets. I think that if I slow down the run and do kipping pullups for all of them I can cut my time down by a lot. I think I will do this again in a few weeks to see.
