These "whole bunch of the same thing every single day for a month" things are really weird in my opinion, and they are popping up everywhere. Like my wife has some friends (girls) doing "100 burpees a day for a month"....
Why overuse the same muscle groups? Isn't it pretty well established that that is not good for you?
I could see a challenge for a month like: Continuous three day cycles for a month day 1: 100 pullups day 2: 100 burpees day 3: 100 squats
This is the way I look at it. I do ten to twenty squats at work in between patients. Breaks up the day. I do not do as much sitting as someone who has a desk job, but more than I like. As you know sitting is the worst thing for the body. The squats get my blood moving. 100 is nothing. Gardeners do more squats in their day. Would something like you suggested be better? Most likely, but this is not my main workout. Also if you go back one week. The mainsite WODs had a squating type movement everyday but one, and that was deadlifts and pullups.
Just used the bar for these. I need to work on flexibility and this will help with that.
ReplyDeleteI started a squat challenge a friend posted on Facebook last week. It is 100 squats a day for 19 weeks.
