21-15-9 L Pullups and 25 lb Back Extensions

  1. Did this RX'd in 7:23. Man oh man did this LPU's slow down over time. Did first 14 unbroken, finished doing them one at a time. Tried hard to maintain strict form cos the WOD was so short.

  2. Did this today as the 1st part of 2 WOD's. L pulls are a bitch, no other way to really say it. Fletch has it right. My first 12 were unbroken, then 1 at a time. Wrist seemed to handle this ok, so that was encouraging.

  3. 2nd part of today's butt whipping was the 3x800
    First 800 I cruised at about 8.5 on the tread. THAT was a killer! 2 minutes went by like nothing. Had to back it down to 8...then 7.5 then 7.. whew!
    3rd run was better as I started slower, then jammed out the last 1/4 @8.5 My best time yet!

  4. Did the 3x800m with 2 minutes rest in between last night.

    Rd 1 - 4:50
    Rd 2 - 4:40
    Rd 3 - 4:40

    Running is so discouraging for me. I bump up the pace and feel like I'm going to make a big improvement and I end up only 10 seconds faster. Need to make it a point to run a mile at least 3 times a week so that I can get better at this.

  5. Mike, 10 seconds is actually pretty good, esp if you're not running regularly. If you're sprinting, 1 second is a big improvement, so don't downplay your ability to improve. Would you be happy if we were in a competition and you beat me by 10 seconds? Hell yeah you would! You would've kicked my ass! LOL! Keep after it.

  6. Thanks for the encouragement Wy. 10 seconds just doesn't seem like that much, but keeping everything in perspective makes small differences become bigger differences.

    Finally got to this WOD this morning. Subbed PU's/K2E for L-ups and 135# straight leg DL for BE's.

    TT = 12:33

    Wish the pull-up bar at the gym was better. I can't string together more than 3-4 PU's without tearing up my hands.
