30 Pullups/30 DL's 155#/30 Box J's 24"

  1. I was short on time today @the gym so this one sounded perfect! I admit, my forearms still have some fatigue after the "Gwen", and a back/chest routine yesterday, so the 30 pullups got a bit tiring at the grip. I decided to do this whole WOD in sets of 10 which worked out very well (for me). Too often I've tried to muscle through rather than think it through.

    As RX'd.. 7:29

Feel pretty good, and FINALLY got in a full 5 days at the gym. Enjoy!

  2. 7:29? Either you are the fastest man on earth, or you skipped the first sentence of the wod...

  3. You mean 17:29. Surely. Only Rich Froning and co. could do this that fast.. that would be full speed throughout... world class speed, and never stopping. If you can do this in 7:29 I will bring you $100 in cash.

  4. I'm a complete douche. I realized it when I went back to the main and I saw the 9:40 time. I hit stop when I finished thinking I was a stud. Fucking loser. Grrrrr!!!
well, there you go. Beat that. Fuck

  5. I guarantee I am laughing with you and not at you, I learned long ago that if I beat a time on the mainsite I must have left something out. Worst one for me was when I was bragging about my unblievably fast "Randy" time for 75 hang power cleans.

  6. Been fighting a nasty stomach bug, puked my guts out Thursday night, took Friday off, decided to sweat the bastard bug out this moring. No gaming, no strategy at all this morning, just all out. Started with 28 pullups in a row and never came close to getting my breath back the rest of the wod. It was great! Middle round, not so great:)Crushed box jumpts in round 3 though.

I know for a fact that I could go faster overall gaming the pullups 10/10/10 or 15/10/5, but if we really are preparing for the unknowable then you cant always just game shit.

I'm sure if your buddy fell out of a raft and you had to swim across a class 5 rapid, catch his ass in the current, drag your buddy out of the current to shore and then carry his ass up a 30 degree slope to get help, your buddy is going to drown if you take the time to try and figure out a way to break the task of saving him up into sets of convenient reps with little breaks to catch your breath...just somehting I been thinking about lately.

  7. Fletcher,

I am experiencing some low back muscular soreness that is similar to Linda, not sure why 90 155#s feels similar to 55 315#s, but I just wanted to give you the heads up that the loading of these light deadlifts in sets of 30 is probably not a good idea for your lower back. I am definitely not "hurt" just "sore" but I think maybe 135# backs squats would be a fair sub that wouldn't overload your lower back.

Other than that, you should definitely do this WOD cause is it an ass kicker.

  9. Justin I like your post about gaming. That is one thing a bunch of coaches say... stop gaming, go balls out at all times for best fitness results. If you are actually in competition then gaming makes sense. We aren't... except bragging rights on the blog.

  10. I should probably have listened to Justin but I went ahead and went RX'd. This was a mental beat down. Just had to keep grinding it out. 90 Deadlifts are really helpful for that pullup bar grip. Bastards.

TT 19:01. Party is at my house I guess.... although I don't feel like I did anything special here.
