  1. I was hoping to get to this this morning, but didn't make it. Off to Miami then on a cruise ship for the next week.

  2. I did this one with full squat cleans which increases the suck factor tenfold. Painful today. Way off my PR

  3. WODoers: Spent the last week with my Dad who just transfered to hospice care in Cheyenne. He has been battling cancer for 7 years and now the end is near. I tried to stay for the very end but couldn't, I have a family and business that need me here in Jackson. I hope he passes soon and peacefully, as it is his time. He fought the good fight but sometimes life just goes how it goes. For my last words to him I memorized the Invictus poem with "I" changed to "you", so I feel good about that. He has lived a good life and he had many good friends to come by and see him at the end. He is completely sedated and they are making him as comfortable as possible now. My mom and brother are still with him which made it easier for me to leave.

I hit up Elisabeth today and a week of limited sleep, eating out, emotional stress, two seven hour drives, and just fitting in a run here and there took a big toll on me. 10:17 as rx'd which is way off my PR too. I need to get myself back on track, but I know I will be traveling back to Cheyenne soon...

  5. So sorry Justin. So cool though that you memorized the Invictus poem and recited it to your dad! I hate cancer and I hate heart disease. Seems like if it isn't one, it's another.

I don't look forward to that time for me.... my dad and I are best buddies. We spent the whole day together on the golf course celebrating his retirement in fact. My dad is only 62 though... he was 20 when I was born.

I don't believe that we are eaten by worms and that's it... I believe there is more... and I think you will see your dad again.... big time.

In fact, you might want to read the book "Proof of Heaven" that I read recently. It's not "religiousy" at all really... it was written by an atheist (used to be) brain neurosurgeon who was in a "lights out" coma for a week.... check it out perhaps!

I'll be back at it tomorrow.
