Regional 5 Legless Climb/Sprint 10 Rounds

  1. I think the most amazing thing about the games athletes is their ability to recover. Legless rope climbs are just pure strength, maybe a little bit of technique, and the muscle recovery to do it again. I flew through four rounds in 3:14 and then all those muscle ups and power cleans from yesterday just caught up with me and I couldn't make it up the rope more than half way in round 5. I was disappointed I couldn't finish as rx'd, but I switched to 400m runs(for the extra time between climbs) and made it through eight completed climbs. I think I could do this as rx'd after a couple days rest with fresh arms, but that of course is not the idea behind cross fit in general and certainly not the games.

I will be curious to see how well the gamers do at this one. My money is on Spealler to take this one down.

  2. Did this as 100m run (guessing) and 10 DH pull-ups.

  3. Justin I bet you could do this on fresh forearms/arms.... I got er' done RX'd in 12:05. Slow time, but after 5 rounds I was struggling. First 3 rounds were really fast, under 3 minutes, but by rounds 6 or 7 I had to wait a few.... I could tell I needed to because the previous one I barely made. I basically barely made the last 3.... I had to stop and hang there for a couple of seconds to get the last 2 or 3 efforts to get to 14 feet. Hopefully you saw that it was 14 feet and not 15. I also got a decent jump off of the ground for each rep... because you can.

  4. I missed the old 14'. Measured today, I was going about 15'6" to where I was touching, so there might be hope...Nice work cranking that out Fletcher!

  5. Well there you go... that extra 18" makes a big huge difference!

  6. Just watched this event live, in person. The winner did this in 3:33. Tall dude. He would run and jump and only have to do 3 pulls to get up to the top.
Pretty amazing. Going again to watch tomorrow.

  7. Well, I think I need to pace myself a little on this one and I might get it done under the time cap, however, I blew that completely today.

    4 in 2:17
    5 in 3:16
    6 in 4:28
7 in 5:43 forearms screaming at this point
8 in 12:18 missed the first attempt by like 6" crushed spirit
    9 in 14:48
    10 in 17:38

Tough to watch the wheels fall off that bad...but I finished.
