Regional 7

  1. I scaled this to 175# and could not even come close to finishing. I did tabata style pull-ups starting with sets of 10 and ended up getting done in about 3:45, which I thought was a good start. Then I had to take about 30 seconds to compose myself and my first power clean was an utter failure. I cannot even fathom trying to snatch 205 like the gamers will. I got composed and clean and jerked the bar behind my head and then did a behind the neck jerk. I did one rep and then I failed at the very bottom of the next rep. I somehow managed to get the bar up in the air and did another behind the next jerk. I held it there for about three seconds before I got seriously dizzy and dumped the bar. I called it a wod. My nervous system was shot and there was no way I could finish.

I predict it they will be some full on pass outs at the games for the over head squats. Also, some pretty horrible looking snatch attempts. This will be an evil way to finish for 90% of the athletes and Froning will make it look like a cake walk.

  2. damn dude... I got nervous for you just reading this. These WODs are hard freaking core man. That event 6 looks awful... I think I'll save that one for the weekend. You know if JTS can't do a WOD RX'd it is seriously heavy duty. can't wait to see how the gamers deal with it. I still call Bailey the winner for the HSPU/FS/Burpee WOD.

  4. Did you guys watch the video of the Central East men heat 4 with Froning, Holmberg, Panchick? WOW. Sub 2 minutes. I scaled to 155 lbs and finished in 5:32. Jason did 105 and 7:04. I was surprised that I did the OHS unbroken, so after the WOD I rested a few minutes and did it again and Jason videoed. I just wanted to see if my ROM was OK. I went down until I felt the hip crease... you call this legit?
