  1. Not used to doing the stand on the box box jumps. I usually use the old standard where you could jump up and off the box and as long as your hips were extended and your feet were above the box you were good. I am very slow and ackward at the games standard.

    The scores just blow me away. I barely rested and I got 178, all PP and DL unbroken and easy. Took a few deep breaths on the box jumps but never took the bent over heavy breathing 10 second break.

    My first round was in 1:06, which means the fastest score I could ever get is 272 if I had instantaneous transitions. 253 with a five second transitions and 236 with 10 second transitions, zero breaks.

    Those scores are just awesome. They are killing it in efficiency, strength, and endurance.

  2. Going to hit this today or tomorrow... up in Vail but on the way home soon. I noticed that you can do box step ups or jumps (which has always been the case but they called it out specifically here: http://games.crossfit.com/workouts/the-open/2013#tabs-2 ) Also noticed that you cannot use two barbells with one in the rack. The workout starts with the barbell on the ground, and only one barbell. It's good to read the details! The Games is such a fun time of year! I was looking at the Reebok WOD shoes, might try some out. They are $109 but good shoes pretty much cost about that anyway. Been wearing the same WOD shoes for a couple of years and they are starting to fray. Climbing rope messes them up. I think the Reebok shoes are specially reinforced and layered in areas akin to CF WODs.

  3. Got 7 rounds done with 9:41 on the clock, thought "every rep counts! every rep counts! bang em out til the buzzer!! full throttle!!" got 13 more reps at the end, doing DLs and PPs faster than 1 rep per second.

    score = 223.

    I can't understand how the world's best can move that fast. I rested a few times for about 2-3 seconds (deep breath or two) and that was IT! Freaks!! That puts me so far at #527 out of 2,000+ in our age group. Not too bad but dude, even old dudes like us are scoring well over 300??!? Who are these people? I about died out there!
