30 Minutes of Pushups and Rope Climb

  1. Fletcher, you can make fun of the helmet all you want, but concrete is hard and I am old and fat.

    Today it was raining and miserable here, so I skipped the leg destruction workout and went right to the upper body destruction work out. Legless climbs ass to 9' touch. Hand release push ups.

    Climbs seemed to hinder pushups much more than vice versa. Also, muscle ups from yesterday did not help. Started out with a 15 to 1 ratio but ended with 10 to 1.

    22 total climbs

    249 Push ups

    I think I could probaly get about 25 climbs and the same number of push ups if I started with the 10 to 1 ratio. I ended up doing some double sets of climbs to let pushups recover.

    Hopefully it will be nice tomorrow moring so I can go the track and just ruin my whole week with the sprint, lunge, squat madness!

  2. Nice tip! Maybe I should go for the middle and try a 12:1 ratio. I like the plan, rather than just "going for it." I wish you could butcher the barn and make a 15 footer. Have a buddy coming over in a couple of hours for Zeus. I only gained two pounds on the cruise, 228. At least that's what the scale said this AM. Chelle gained FIVE and she's 1/2 my size. Ya baby!

  3. I have to admit I surprised myself here. Had a goal of 25 rounds, had 52 seconds left with 26 in the bank and turboed the last one, finished 27 rounds with 2 seconds left. I feel absolutely crushed after Zeus Sunday and this today. Had two buddies with me this morning... they did rounds of 5 pullups 10 pushups, buddy Mike got 27 1/2 rounds. NASTY BOYS! The open starts this week. Check out that video on the mainsite of Josh Bridges beating Fronings performance on the 2012 games chipper (although Froning had done many other WODs that day and was on day 3 of the games with a commanding lead). Bridges took last year off... he might contend this year. A couple of years ago I think he got second. I wonder if Mikko is going to compete this year? I love the games, I love CrossFit, and I love our blog!

  4. DUDES - My wife did this today and got 26 full rounds of 1 rope climb + 10 pushups + 1 more rope climb. And she's a 40 year old girl. WTF? Daaaaaaaammnnnnn.....
