7 minutes of big ol box jumps and big ol squat cleans

8 comments:

  1. I did it like this:
30" box step ups (knee is a mess for impact/jumping things)
5 reps of 135 lb squat cleans

    Got 6 rounds + 2 SC's
Timer stopped at 07:00. I sat down for 15 seconds, then got up and did the final 3 SC's to finish out round 7.

Just before this to get the engine revving, we did:
    40-30-20-10

    hand release pushups
    1 pood KBS
    abmat situps with feet anchored

    10:57

Good combo, got the core body temp up nicely!

I think I'll go hit some golf balls during lunch today. Beautiful weather.

I miss Chris posting out here :-(

  2. I'm still here, just lurking in the bushes. I liked your warm up so I did the same.

    TT: 10:42

    Then I did today's WOD.

    7 24" Box jumps
    5 135# Squat Cleans

7 Rounds with 2 seconds to spare.

Going second definitely helped me because I knew what I had to shoot for. I'm down 12 pounds since the 1st of the year, but seem to have stopped losing weight. I'm happy with my results regardless. I'll try to post more often. I've been hitting all the WOD's and I have added cardio into the mix as well. Usually running and Plyo-X.

Good to see the blog going strong with Justin, Mike and of course you Jimmy. Nice work fellas!

  3. well shit... it always helps to go second, but no excuse. we were close! I like it when you post. Good job being less of a fat ass! LOL. I watched the first TWD last night, gotta see the next one. I saw on FB you said "Carol is alive"... I wonder WTH that is all about.

  4. The second episode is a lot better. Episode one was kind of slow. Guess I shouldn't post on FB, ruin it for those of you who haven't seen it.

I definitely feel like less of fat ass that's for sure!

  5. Scratch that, I meant Dave not Mike. Dave has been hitting hard. My bad.

  6. I missed the squat clean part, also 225# is out of my league for this rep scheme. I did 205 power cleans and 30" jumps. Got five rounds + 5 bj + 1 cl.

  7. The site demo video showed power cleans. Man, I just wish they would specify the type of cleans. WHY DON'T THEY JUST SAY POWER CLEANS?

  8. Fletcher, I am not trying to be a smart ass, but when they say CLEANS it is so you have the option, in my humble could be wrong opinion.

If I were to try and do the 225#ers in the open, then I might be able to get one power clean. I would be able to keep going but only with the squat cleans, but they would be slow and painful. 225 is like 97% of my one rep power clean and 88% of my one rep squat clean.

I was a pussy so I choose 205 power cleans because I was so sore from skiing. I will have to man up and try it with 225 and squat cleans someday...
