Descending DB snatches and rope climbs

For time:
70-lb. dumbbell snatches, 50 reps
15-foot rope climbs, 5 ascents
70-lb. dumbbell snatches, 40 reps
15-foot rope climbs, 4 ascents
70-lb. dumbbell snatches, 30 reps
15-foot rope climbs, 3 ascents
70-lb. dumbbell snatches, 20 reps
15-foot rope climbs, 2 ascents
70-lb. dumbbell snatches, 10 reps
15-foot rope climb, 1 ascent

  1. RX'd is possible on this one, but my right shoulder has had a twinge in it, 150 lb DB snatches seemed like not a great idea... so I scaled the snatches to 50 lbs. RCs were RX'd of course.

    Got through 90 reps and 9 climbs in 13:33, so I figured sub 20 was in reach... however it crept up on me and I gassed... each rep, and especially each rope climb got harder and harder... I slowed way down at the end and finished in TT = 23:18. Oh well. Dripping massive sweat puddles all about. The rest of today will be easy.

  2. Also, I did set the dumbbell on the ground every rep and switched hands every other rep. "F that WOD, I am losing interest!" was a comment on this one on the main site. LOL. Big baby.

  3. Scaled to 40 lb snatches and subbed DH PU's for rope climbs.
    50/20, 40/16, 30/12, 20/8, 10/4
    total time 19:30
