5rds 50DU/10 185# PJ or "Hope"

  1. I called this one hope, as in I hope I can finish.

It was a little wierd though, I think the fact I new I had to do 250 DUs from the get go caused me to just try and relax and I actually stayed relaxed and the DUs went really smooth was string them together 20+ at a time. Just took my time on the jerks. Rounds without rest went: 4:40/4:27/3:52/4:34/3:45
    TT with rest 25:20
As I relaxed more, the double unders went faster and the jerks were more with my legs throwing it up from the rack than my arms.

  2. I didn't time this one because my double unders just aren't ready for prime time. Lots of welts on my legs. I shortened my rope and that did seem to help but I can't string a bunch together. Lots of singles and doubles. Scaled the weight to 155.

    DU's winded me good

Approx. 30 minutes and change would be my guess

  3. Chris I just think it's cool that you are going for it on the DU's. Do 50 every day in warm up and you'll start stringing them...rhythm

  4. Thanks Craig. Took your advice and also watched Spealler. Dude makes them look so easy. I'll add them to my warm up. That and some rows when I order that sonofabitch this WEEK!! Hell yeah

  5. Simpson did you order that rower? that is so cool. This WOD required mental touhgness for me because I actually got the DU's going pretty darn good and this was the first WOD where I consistently was halted in the DU's because of wind, not so much skill. I scaled the PJ's to 125 but I cranked the reps from 10 up to 15 in order to be moving the same amount of weight. I don't think that's a total fair swap of course, but I do what I can fellas.

TT 18:48. I laid it all on the line. I was hurting bad and wanted to quit a few times. I then came immediately into the house and sat down, still breathing hard, and starting eating solid food (dinner with family). You know you are a CF veteran when you can crush a metcon and then chow a big meal 3 minutes later without puking. I needed something carbonated because I was feeling nauseous so I grabbed me a Mike's Hard Lemonade (Cranberry, for you manly men) to go with dinner. I feel dizzy now... viva la CROSSFIT!
