WODoers: No angie for me. Yesterday I run 1 mile weighted vest the 30 ghdsup weighted vest. 12:38. Pile of suckey on the situps.
Less than optimal conditions. Then we floated the river and I let my buddy row a section so I could fish and he fucking sunk my drift boat in a snag. I waited about 10 seconds trying to free the boat and making sure he and my girlfried were secured to a tree in the river and then I had to go save my dog. He is a great swimmer but he is a just a puppy and he was trying to go back to the boat instead of to shore and he was going to be sucked into a monster hydrolic about 200 hundred yards down stream and probably dissappear for good, so I went for him. Swimming in long pants and wading boots in big water sucks ass, and it is less than optimal conditions, but that is my point. I knew I was going to make even though I was questioning my sanity a few times when the boots started to drag me over my head in the water, but I just kept swimming for him. Doing a fuck load of pullups after a bunch of kettlebell swings is also less than ideal conditions too, but good for you and teaches you that you can do things you probably didn't realize you could do. The beauty of crossfit is I got my dog out of the water and I would have had plenty of wind to run upstream and get back into the water if the snag had shifted or the boat broke free to get my woman and buddy out of the water. Thankfully it didn't and search and rescue got them out in a jet boat, but it was good know that there was plenty of gas in the tank in case I needed to make multiple trips to he boats.
Just one more reason to do the wod and never let a buddy row your boat when the water is big. Oh well, nobody go hurt and the boat is insured. The $3500 in rods and gear I watched float away...I haven't heard back from the adjuster yet...but there is hope.
Justin that's a horrible, but great story. I've got two dogs and I'd dread seeing something like that happening to one of them, especially as a puppy. Oh and I've got a wife too and I think I would've found the wind to help her too...
I sucked super bad at this this morning, 22:41, best time is 18 minutes. This was my first CF WOD in like 10 days or so though, haven't done a single pullup in almost two weeks either, so the pullups took me like 9:30. Boy do I lose the ability to do pullups fast! Oh well, back in the saddle. I want revenge in a few weeks!
