30 Rounds row/rest

  1. Holy cow! That wasn't too bad until the last 10 rounds. My rower must cycle different after the pulling stops than the guys on the mainsite cause I rowed almost every round between a 1:44 and 1:48 500m split. I even got it well down into the 1:30s on the last five and even saw 1:27 for a couple of pulls on the very last round. I rested at a 1:50 pace one round at about the twenty minute mark and that was it, so I don't know why else my score would be lower than theirs 4740m.

I had to mess with the set up a little. If you have a gym clock then you can use just row and use your clock, but if you want a running clock on the rower then set it for 30 minutes of time. If you try and set 30 seconds on and 30 seconds off, then it will not count the revolutions after the last pull and your score will be super low.

  2. Justin I saw your post on my phone right before I went out there... so I took your advice and put the C2 on "Just Row" and used my gym clock. If you guys ever feel like splurging a little cash on the "Clock Gone Bad" clock it is freaking great. It has forward, backward, tabata, FGB, etc. modes.

I had the damper on 7 through ~ 13 rounds, then I felt like I would be more efficient at a 5 as I fatigued. My body was already very worn out from Tully yesterday (just rowed 4K and did 92 reps of 40 DBSC's 24 hours ago!).

    Total distance was 5,165M

Justin, it usually took me about 10 seconds to get to a 1:40 split, from there I would try to get down to 1:38 or so and hold it at or below 1:40 as long as I could. Another thing was that I was finding early on I wasn't finishing the intervals all the way out so I focused on that the final 15 or so, I was pulling all of the way til the clock said 30 every time, which sometimes meant doing a 1/2 a rep/pull @ 28 so I could go for a big full one by the 30. I never rested during the go time. Afterwards I was stuck on the rower hunched over and feeling pretty awful for about 5 minutes. That's rowing for you.

  3. Sorry to be so wordy today... so in addition to the hero WOD yesterday, the crazy rowing this AM... Chelle and I are going for a big time mountain bike ride this afternoon. I wonder if I am overdoing it. Also only slept about 6 hours last night and whacked 4 beers at my buddy's house...
