Jared - His wife, and his 3 kids.....

  1. Hey fellas. Justin sent me an email last night betting me a signed one dollar bill on this one, citiing that he will smoke me on the pullups, and I will smoke him on the pushups. I don't know if either was true, I just know this wrecked me. I thought I was going to throw up in round 4 several times. What kept me going was Jared's story, and I kept picturing his kids getting ready for school or day care this morning with only their mommy at home to help them... and with pictures of daddy in uniform proudly hanging on the walls of the house. Almost choked me up a bit. Just think about that.

I really slowed down in the last two rounds. First two were done in 23. I rowed 1K in round 1, but found that the rowing was crushing my pullups because of the strain on my forearms and lats... so in rounds 2-4 I rowed 500 and then got off and ran 400M. It was a beautiful morning outside, a great day to be alive and breathing.

Off to a golf tournament. How can I swing a golf club 250 times after that? (including the range and practice strokes of course!). Gonna be interesting. I think I'll have to drink a few beers.

  2. I can also say with absolute certainty that all of my pullups were full ROM. That's a big differentiator

  3. Damn. I need Fletcher's mailing address cause I got beat down old school. 55:15 here and I too thought I was going to throw up and or die. Push up just killed me. Was over five minutes in every round but one.

  5. Did only 3 rounds. Family came home. I thought I would be quicker. TT 1:04.52 Pull-ups are what slowed me down. I am doing these dead hang on rings. Runs and push-ups were easier, not easy, just easier.

  6. Sum-BITCH!!!! I am one big sobbing vagina right now. Only able to do about 83 pullups until my right lat gave out (pain), but by then I was so into it I did what every good soldier would do.. improvise and press on. I used the weight assist pull up machine and finished out about 3/4 of my body weight. Hurt, but not enough to make me quit. Forearms are toast as are lats. Doing this one to completion was my only goal, but did ok. I am thinking w/o the weight assist I'd have been about 6-8 minutes longer easy.
