Tryin' to reason with hurricane season

  1. Any of you guys on the east coast? Chris I think you're up by Syracuse right? Pretty far out of harm's way. Anyway, we're apparently about to get slammed. First time with a direct hit since I was a kid up the road from where I live now. It's about midnight now and starting to blow. I think we got everything inside and battened down so bring it on!

I got a run in today, had to take yesterday off after four days on. Not too far, about 2.5 miles, but if I timed it right I didn't do too bad @ about 20 mins so about 8min miles in the rain. I'm liking the cleans/burpees for tomorrow so long as my basement is still above water.

My son had his first - ever - football game today (4th grade). Five-town jamboree w/ 30-minute scrimmages. We've got our own little taste of Texas here in the CT, they take the game seriously, and apparently our town f***ing rules and they represented well. His team only lost one out of five, not bad for only two weeks of practice. Kid got some good PT and a couple of decent blocks. His homework for the storm was 25 pushups/day until his next practice. I played around with him afterwards by doing Turkish getups with him on my arm. He loved it. Good thing he's skinny.

Plenty of rum in the house. Goodnite Irene, goodnite...

  2. Chas hope all is well. I'm in Syracuse so only rain and wind here, nothing too drastic.

    Awesome post by the way!!

  3. Chas, what happened? Anything major? Seems like the storm wasn't as bad as people thought it was goign to be, but 70 MPH winds still sounds insane to me. Tell us about your Hurricane experience!
