The Fifty

You know the drill

  1. Took a chance and took this on this morning. I noticed that my back hurt more yesterday than the day before. Seems like exercise is a better way to recover than rest if you do the right exercise. Pulls from the floor are not happening right now I can tell you that. I feel a big time twinge when I do that still.

    So I did this RX'd except the DU's, I subbed air squats for those.

    My time wasn't so hot. I had a good pace going until half way through the wall balls, and the burpees just beat me up mentally and physically. I think my problem was that I did this big long metcon on a totally empty stomach. Next time I should eat 1/2 apple and some nut butter about 30 minutes pre-WOD. Just an idea for yous guys....

    TT = 29:57

    A few WOD notes (mostly for my own benefit, I doubt you guys care much!)

    KBS = 30/20
    after lunges: 9 minutes
    K2E = 20/10/10/10
    PP = 30/20 (14:46 after these)
    BE's 20/10/10
    WB - this is where I lost it 10/10/10/10/10
    Burpees - sucked

  2. WODoers: In Sun Valley with Monica for some r and r. Ran a 10k in about an hour with some hill sprints, box jumbs, and air squats thrown in for good measure. Off to do nothing important for the rest of the day. Probably going to fish tomorrow.

  3. Burpees kicked my ass hard today. Only have a 20" box and subbed jump tucks for DU's. 18 seconds slower than when we did this in November, but I'm still happy with my time.

    TT: 25:47

    My ears are ringing something fierce right now.

    Later guys

  4. Build that box up Chris! Good time though, bee-otch.

    Justin, her name is Sandy Bottoms.

    Dudes, my cousins go to an affiliate at CrossFit Redding (CA), I'm going out there in two weeks and will WOD with them. Gary can SP 220 and Mike can bench 400x3. They are strong. They did "What the Fran?" yesterday. I had not heard of it, but here it is, just to make you throw up in your mouth a little.

    21-15-9-15-21 95 lb thrusters and pullups. 81 reps total.

    Who's down? Not me. Yuk. Pukey's Revenge.

  5. Fletcher we did that wod before but we called it FRANARF. It was very hard. Oh if you gonna be in Redding why don't you take a nice scenic cruise down to Tahoe. My Wod today
    Swim 1000m, but not all at once broke it up a bunch. Drive back to the gym and did 5 rounds of 21 75# thrusters and 21 double unders. TT 8:29 was pretty exhausted after the swim. Now time to eat lots o food.

  6. I took a break from studying and got a quick WOD in last night. I did Griff at the local hs track. Running backwards is quite a bit harder in "real life" than it is on the treadmill.

    Run 800m forward
    400m backward
    Run 800m forward
    400m backward

    Forgot my stop watch. I think that my total time for riding my bike there and back, stretching, and running was about 40 minutes.

    My test is Saturday. So, I'm planning on getting back on track this Sunday. Later fellas.

  7. Myles, I thought about that, and I really want to, but traveling with a 1 and a 3 year old make it really hard. We have a full schedule of visits with all my family members and this is a 4 hour trip each way. I just don't think I can pull it off. But, want to come to Redding? :-)
