WODoers: Used 32 penny nail to set up my rope in the main beam of the barn, as rx'd. I wrote out the poem Invictus on my white board and set it on the ground at the bottom of the rope. It helped. This was a great wod. I did this wod with no foot assist, all climbs full height one shot, except one were I came up a foot short and made up the difference from the ground. I also did an accidental full height dismount at the end of round two, that shit woke me up in a hurry.
Justin, too freaking cool man, the Invictus poem for motivation! What a stud. Rope climbs are super hard for me you bad bad man.
Dudes, I did a 4 1/2 hour mountain bike ride yesterday that spanked me really really good, I am sore all over the place. I just built out my new bike and my wife and I hired a babysitter in Breckenridge (yah, that was really cheap, $80 to go mountain biking) and we did 22 miles of often grueling riding, all on single track dirt, lots of rocks, roots, climbing, screaming downhill, roaring streams, beautiful country, and zone snacks to keep me fueled. That was the damnedest WOD I've done in forever. I'll hit this one up tomorrow... might sub 4 minute biking sprints over the runs, and for rope climbs lots of pullups. 5 rounds of 50 pushups sounds nasty too. Awesome. Rock hard tiddies. I'll post a couple of vid clips from our mtn bike ride when I can.
Awesome work Justin!... I can't wait to give this a try once my rope is up (Any feaking day now, 20'!). Way to crush it Rx'd.
I convinced 2 guys at the fire station to WOD with me today and it went pretty well. They both kicked butt and were sweating and panting at the end. So there was some hard work done by all.
Warm up: Stretch 5-10 minutes
WOD #1 Chest and tri's stuff, 1 hours worth... Pull downs, skull crushers, butterfly cable press and what not.
WOD #2 21-15-9 reps for time of: Wall Ball, 20lbs, 10' target Burpees
Jacob 3:25 +2 Burpees
I think I would have PR'd this since the only other time I did it was in my garage with a 10' ceiling target (3:18). So this time was better since I did a greater ROM during the WOD.
Jeff 4:38 (8' target)
Tony 5:30 (8' target)
Looking forward to tomorrow's WOD.
Three rounds for time of: 50 pound dumbbell Thruster, 15 reps 30 GHD situps
Sub 6:00 would be tough on this one. 1 minute for the thrusters and then 1 minute on the GHSU would be a wicked pace to sustain. I think I could hit the first round sub 2:00, but after that the suck factor is going to hit me hard.
Justin, I am still inspired by your report here. Freakin badness.
This WOD was gnarly and I loved it. I did this with lots of subs, but I finished pumping my fist knowing I kicked ass and gave it all I had.
Subbed ~ 1 mile mountain bike sprint for runs (ended up ~ 4 minutes/round) Subbed 20 towel pullups for rope climbs, which I know is not sufficient, but 100 towel pullups seemed like enough for me for one WOD.
TT 41:50. Had to do final 10 pullups as dead hang cos the towel tore, twice. Towel pullups are harder than dead hang from the bar.
Time to figure out a way to get a rope hung up somewhere. Even if it's a 9 footer I can do it from my ass and do it twice per RX'd rep or something? I'll look into it.

Hello beastie
ReplyDeleteIt started pouring halfway through my first run, so I did 1K rows for the rest. 50 jumping pullups (NOT fun after the rows), pushups as rx'd.
