  4. Thanks guys it was a cousin of mine that had been battling mental and alcohol probelms. He decided to take his own life. I wasn't super close to him but close enough to make you think ya know.

    What keeps you guys motivated, I would like to hear what you guys have to say, I'm trying to get back on track and want to see what keeps you guys all fired up?

  5. Went up to McHenry and did Crossfit Fire's Fittest Fire Fighter Challenge. Ended up taking 2nd place after coming right from the fire station on only 3 hours of sleep, so I was pretty happy.

    I'll post the video of the WOD so you guys can better appreciate what exactly we were doing. I was tough, but I went sub 7:00, which was good for 2nd place. Me and one other guy made it so I can't complain. We even beat the time of one other guy who did it in a weight vest, not even on air.

    For time complete: (While wearing full turnout gear and SCBA, on air)
    18 Ball Slams, 30lbs (Floor to overhead)
    9 Tire Jumps, 24" Hold 1.5 Pood Kettlebell and 10lb Sledgehammer
    12 Ball Slams, 30lbs
    6 Tire Jumps, 24" Hold 1.5 Pood Kettlebell and 10lb Sledgehammer

    I was able to run during the transitions which was the one goal I set out for today. To be the only guy who ran the coarse as opposed to walkinging it was pretty cool... Mission accomplished! People laughed when I told them I wanted to have the energy and strength to run during the transitions even while carrying things, but I did. I just think I held back a little in between and could have moved faster leading up to these parts.

  6. I only just made this one up. TT = 28:45, done as rx'd. Burpees suck ass, TTB weren't bad but I'm just slow at them. Did them all 5 at a time.
