  1. I am still reluctant to do much of anything with a barbell, the back problems are lifelong, but I think I might slowly try some really lightweight stuff. I am going to do the terrible 1' burpees run your ass off WOD soon, but didn't want to do it today cos my shoulders are still feeling those 100 ring dips from my last WOD.

So this morning I did my own programming, did some pulling and core:

    4 rounds of
    500M row
    15 dead hang pullups
    20 54 lbs KBS
25 GHD situps (to flat, as always)

23:43. It was tough because of all of the pulling moves in a row, my forearms and grip were wondering what the heck I was thinking. The DHPU's took the longest, they were just really hard after coming off the rower. Kept rowing split around 1:50 - 1:55 usually. First round 5 mins, last round 5:43, middle rounds were kinda wimpy.

Keep up the good work!! Butt ass early mountain bike ride in the works for tomorrow. I would highly reccomend mtn biking. I am actually down under 210 for the first time in years. I don't feel like I need to lose much weight but it has happened, ever right after a vacation. Must be the biking?

  2. Also went to my buddy's kids birthday party last night and did a 15' rope climb. It wasn't too bad since I was using my feet, but legless is really hard for me. Then a girl that was there (she's badass, she can do like 5 MUs unbroken) did a legless rope climb, then my buddy Sean did a legless L rope climb. So really I'm not so tough. Also my arms have been pus-sing and now are all scabby from the ring dips. I think I'll get those basketball player rubber elbow cover things for lots of RD WODs. It's a BURN!

  3. Tony Budding from Crossfit came to our area for vacation all last week. He wanted to work out a bunch with his family so we would set him up. One of the days he was like hey you wanna do a new .com workout, I'll put your name and time up there? So I had 10 minutes before I had to teach a class. He's like this should be enough time. Here's the workout. I was like fuck man I am going to need more than 5 minutes to recover from this one. So I went for it any ways.
Needless to say I found out the wod and had 30 seconds to set up a bar and get to work. I was kinda pissed when I saw my time compared to all the other guys. Those fuckers had like all day to figure out the workout.
I want to try it again. It was pretty tough and it made my head feel like I just dod Fran.

  4. Myles: I think your time still kicks some serious ass.

I was traveling this weekend so no wod monday and on sunday I ran for 50 minutes and threw in ten rounds of 25 squats through out the run for fun... fun in some sick twisted crossfit kind of fun.

Since I missed Monday I threw down some 100 and 200 meter sprints on the rower today. Those were killer with a minutes rest. I was able to pull my 500/m split time down to 1:24, but I couldn't go any faster than that on a damper setting of 5. I think I might do these a little more often and see if I can't get my power output up a little bit.

Floating the river in my new used boat tomorrow so may or may not wod.

How come nobody joined in on the burpeed stupidy the other day?? I guess I am the only one dumb enough to do that wod.

  5. Rowers: How fast can you pull your 500m split time down to?

  6. Justin, got mine down to 1:21, damper on 5. Held that pace for a few strokes then couldn't hang on any longer.
