5 Min of 165# C&J's

  1. This one really sneaks up on you. I understood this to be basically one movement with the clean transitioning into the jerk. 165# gets heavy pretty quickly.

I really thought I could hold a 5 reps/min pace, but fell off the pace at 10 in 2 min, then only got 8 over the next 3 minutes.

So, 18 reps in 5 minutes.

I really want another shot at this one. I think I would've been better trying to go for 4/min with a good rhythm, then a blowout over the last minute.

  2. Mikey, I got you by one. 19 for me. I want another shot at this one too. I don't think I was sufficiently warmed up. I think doing some push ups and jogging a mile to work up a sweat would be a good way to avoid the third minute central nervous system shut down.

  3. Just watched the example video on the main site for this WOD and I guess that I should be happy with 18 reps when the lead guy got 22. Also, 5 reps per minute for 5 minutes may have been a little ambitious.

Either way, I still want another shot at this one.

  4. In hindsight, I should have scaled this. My 1RM C&J is 185, so this was basically a strength day for me.

I did 7 rounds (full C&Js) in the 5mins, then kept going for 12 in 10mins.
