DU/WB2-4-1 or Learn to Laugh at Yourself

  1. After doing this WOD the demo video on the mainsite is even more impressive. My only tip is throw the ball higher than 10 feet so you have time to do the squat, and just pray at the end of the wod when the ball crushes you down at the bottom of your squat that it doesn't drive you face first into the solid concrete floor below. As rx'd 16:13.

  2. Justin, thanks for the tip. I tried it at 11 foot, but still had a hard time getting it down. I almost smashed my face a couple times so I decided to sub.

    3 Rounds of:

    Side to Side jumps over a barbell w/plates for DU's
    25 Wall balls 11' target
    25 Airsquats

    Not the same I know but still got my heart rate up and I wanted to do something.

    TT: 12:11

    Good to have you back posting again Justin. Great job on the run!

  3. I was at the beach all weekend, so I decided to do 2 rounds of Badger to make up a Hero WOD. 1000m rows for the runs.

    TT = 24mins flat

    I felt sluggish the whole way through, like sleepy sluggish. Maybe too much sun and surfing this weekend. As if there's any such thing.

  4. Hey there fellars! Justin, it is great to have you back on the main site WODs bloggin' with us.

    My DU's are getting better. Most reps were single-double-single-double so I really did about 150 singles as well, but sometimes I strung 2 or 3 DU's together. LOTS of failures on the DUs of course. This WOD made my lungs burn good too, I was pushin it. Still regretting my dismal Nancy performance. And if it weren't for the blog I wouldn't know what I puss I was that day. The 2 fer 1's went OK, I figured out quick I had to move REALLY fast to get those done. Lots of times I caught them with my hands in a scoop position, it was the only way I could do it. I got smashed by the ball a bunch too.

    Oh yah, TT 13:48. Left knee is puffy....

    Check out the chic on the main site. Ripped mighty fine. CrossFit chics. My wife's bod is looking a lot like that lately. mmmmm hmmmm!

    Oh yah, trying to make this the longest post ever. Check this out: I was up in my rings doing an L Sit yesterday, showing Chelle and her dad the move, (we like to hang out in the garage), and the buckle SNAPPED while I was up there, flew across the room, almost hitting him in the eye. So I am with one ring right now.

    Dennis, my 63 Father in Law, then proceeded to do 4 dead hang chin ups unbroken, and then Chelle (my wife, his daughter) matched him. Fun times on Father's Day. Need a new ring strap assembly.

  5. If you ever break a strap buckle for your rings, it's because you have it looped wrong, it's not a load bearing part, so I did something wrong. But, I did find (with help from the dudes at Elite Rings) where you can get a replacement for under $3

  6. Did this one last night. I got a little too crazy Saturday night, and this WOD really started making me feel a little more normal.

    I ended up catching most of my 2 fer 1's in the scoop position that Fletcher described. Or, I stood there like an idiot, forgot what I was doing, watched the ball fly up hit the wall, then had to do an extra squat before letting the ball fly again. Fun WOD, but harder than expected.

    TT = 11:50

    My DU's really save me on workouts like this.

  7. I forgot that I also did some tire flips last night. I befriended one of the rugby guys here who has 2 tires locked up near one of the practice fields. He gave me the combination to the lock so I tried my first tire flips last night. I think the tire is a little smaller than most, but still about 5' or so in diameter. Down and back on the soccer field and I was spent. I'll have to start doing that more.
