Today I did 185 lb for bench and strict hard core dead hang like hang there for a second and let your lats and shoulder blades shift upward type of pullups. Those are extremely hard.
Henceforth and hitherto, the low rep counts.
Numbers are bench/SPUs
11/9 9/8 10/8 9/7 8/6
Could have done another rep or maybe two each round for bench but I didn't have a spotter. Pullups always went until I failed a rep.
That Broncos loss was like an impossible bad dream.
I did deficit pushups with a 20# vest and 35# plate stacked on a 25# plate. It was good work. I good a lot more reps than I would of doing body weight bench, but I think I got good work on the muscles. Kipping pullups no vest sucked today.

Last round went to hell.
Did mess around with max height box jump wearing the weighted vest and hit 35".
185# bench Sets were as follows.. Bench-18-12-10-8-6 Pulls-18-14-9-11-10 I was pissed about that "9" on 3rd set of PU's. I tweaked my shoulder because I wasn't watching my form. Pissed me off! Had to quit. Felt I could've had a few more. Not too bad though.

ReplyDeleteStandard wide grip, non kipping. Lately when I try and kip,, it pulls my shoulder (like in the 3rd set).

ReplyDelete"Dead hang"? No, there's momentum involved ma man. But, I kept good form and, unlike the WOD demo, I managed to get my chin at height each time.
