DL 5x5

This is a camel we about smoked with our MRAP. Would be like hitting a moose with an armored semi-truck.

Just wasn't feeling it today. Hook grip is going to give me big ass calluses on my thumbs now.

  2. Morey sweet picture. What's the penalty for poaching camels. I bet their 100% paleo.

WODoers: This was heavy today. 5 sure is a lot.
    265x5/315x5/335x5/355x5/365x2

I think 355x5 is a pr but I am not sure.

  3. Today Crossfit Szafranski's shipment of Co-Flex tape came in and boy was it needed. It's amazing how the stuff cost 2.50 a roll if you say you’re going to us it on people, but if you buy it from let's say a veterinary shop online it costs a 1.00. God bless America and our wonderful healthcare system.

On a WOD note I hadn’t seriously ran in a timed WOD in a while so I decided to give the row, burpee, run WOD a try again. I remember the last time I did it I was having my horrible leg pain and could barely even run my 400’s, I think my time was in the 16’s or so, but today was different story. I look at the post for the WOD on HQ and set my sights high. OPT posted a 14:07 two WOD’s ago with this one on HQ, so I gave it my all and was pleased with the results.

    My strategy was as follows…
    500m Row: 1:50, no faster than 1:45
    21 Burpees: 1:20 or better
    400m Run: 1:30 or better.
    Total 14-15 minutes.

    3 Rounds for time of:
    500m Row
    21 Burpees
    400m Rum

    Jacob: 13:48 Rx’d PR

    My performance was as follows…

    Round 1: 4:25
    Round 2: 4:35
    Round 3: 4:38

    Total: 13:48 Rx’d (PR)

gonna do deadlifts after I get off work today.

    Later

  6. I was pleased with it, I got all my rows under 1:50 and my burpees unbroken on the first 2 rounds then had a brief pause on 11 and 18 during the final set. I'm almost positive I could be my time if I push a little harder becasue on my last 400 I actually stopped at the trun around and walked for about 10 seconds because I was gassing, but did a full on sprint for the last 50m or so. My buddy who was timing me couldn't believe it either. We was grining ear to ear when he was yelling sub 14 at me.

    It was awesome.

But now my legs are really jacked, especially after FGB. I'll be downing naproxen and motrin for a few days.

I am trying to get it together going after Tabata next

  8. Myles, maybe you just needed some downtime, cos' you are a lot stronger than that, I've seen it recorded here many a time.

Dudes, I love DL's and I really don't know why, cos' I suck at them considering my size. Weighed in @ 212 today... should be able to DL 425 but have a long ways to go. DL takes time...

I found, for me, the perfect warmup today for DL's, 2K row with the damper on 10. Got it in 7:48 at quite moderate intensity. I see a sub 7 minute 2K row in my future before 2009 is over!

    205-255-305-335-350(3)
Then did 255x8 to close it out because I had a killer Rage Against the Machine song blasting and I just had to lift a few more reps before I unracked everything.

Fun stat: 8,590 lbs lifted off of the ground today.

335x5 wasn't very hard, so I figured I was going to kill 350 for the PR, but after the 3rd rep I just felt all of my energy leave my body, it was a weird feeling. What was that all about? It was like I got zapped by something.
