  1. I was going to give this one a go tonight. But, as I rested after the wallballs the more doubt crept into my mind. So, I just decided I'll take this one on tomorrow. Go get 'er.

  3. Fletcher: I was trying to link you to one of the wounded warrior journal articles. Check them out. They are a super positive way to approach set backs.

    WODoers: Boy todays quote on the main page is perfect for Eva. Did it running on the road, pull ups on the rings, and swings with the old 75er. Mother fucker, the old 75er was covered in blood by the end of this bitch.

    No pr but 48:13. Not bad considering I ran a 5k in 25:28, non-treadmill PR, last night at 6:30p.m.

  4. Justin, I appreciate it man. I know this is mostly in the realm of the mind and the attitude. My body is injured, but I am going to stay fit and strong and improve where I can. Anytime anyone does Eva RX'd they are a certified bad ass. But we already know that Justinius the strong has that cert. Nice work. Mikey, doing Karen and then Eva may have killed you. I'm glad you reconsidered :-)

    Today I tried to do Karen @ 15 reps per 40 seconds. I got through 3 rounds of that and my knee was really hurting so I had to stop. This is unusual though, it's my right knee not the "bad" one, but they are both bad, I've had surgery on both. So I did 45 wall balls in around 1:40, Then I did my own WOD and for me I did pretty damn good.

    15 ring dips
    30 situps

    TT = 10:05

    Did the first set of RD's and last set of situps unbroken. I think I could have done 20 RDs unbroken. I'm getting better at those. It's nice to have something positive happen in the gym as of late. Next time I am going to do this but 20 RDs and 40 situps to get an even 100 and 200.

    I am looking forward to seeing the PT next Tuesday. For now I will stick to BW stuff and alternate and mix push/pull/legs/core where I can. I rowed a little bit this morning, it didn't hurt that bad so tomorrow I might do 5 rounds of row 500M and 30 pullups. That should talk to my forearms. I don't think I should swing a KB until I talk to the PT.

  5. Yoyoyo....

    Had a fun lunch break. My cousin Jeff works here and he's been dabbling in CF some.

    So I punished him with this:

    Warmup stuff, that included 30 wall balls. He was having a hard time with the wall balls :-)

    Then Scaled Rowing Fran

    Row 500M each round, and Fran with 65 lb thrusters. He had a hard time with the thrusters too form wise. I lent him my cheap bar and some 15 lb bumpers and 10 lb metal weights so he can start doing some of the barbell fun.

    During the fun I did this:
    15 ring dips
    21 65lb thrusters
    21 pullups
    20 ring dips

    I didn't time it, but the cool thing was that I did both sets of ring dips unbroken. The set of 20 was tough.

    Thrusters didn't really hurt my back, but I felt some weirdness. Probably shouldn't have done that but who knows.

  6. Since both my treadmill and. as of today, pullup bar are broken, I modified this one to 5 rounds of:

    1000m row
    30 70# swings
    30 pushups

    I did this the last time Eva came up, but with 1.5pd kb, in 37:40. Holy cow, I totally underestimated the difference in swinging 70lbs. I held two 35# plates, which made it even more awkward, but holy shit that totally destroyed my time overall, not to mention killing me for rowing.

    TT=47:35

    I'm going to seriously feel this one tomorrow. Thank God it's a rest day, although I've gotta get up in a monkey suit for a wedding. At least it'll be an open bar...

    Today I did "Little Eva for Hurt People"

    5 rounds of
    Row 500M
    10 dead hang pullups from bar
    5 dead hang pullups from rings
    20 KBS with the little baby 12KG KB

    TT = 24:50.

    My back was really in pain this morning but I just had to WOD. Hope this doesn't make it worse. I am experimenting right now. Dead hang pullups really slow me down!! I didn't row that hard, don't want to set myself back.

    Just good to do a WOD. Oh well....

  8. I ended up at work until 8:30 last night, so I didn't make it into the gym until today. Because I was here in the afternoon I ended up fighting the crowds so I ended up doing:

    2 rounds as Rx'ed - took about 25 minutes, kept having to wait on the db's and pu bars

    3 rounds of: run 800m, row 800m

    TT = 48:00 on the nuts

    Not a fair muscle sub, but I think a fair time sub. Have a good weekend. Later fellas.

    I've never even heard nor seen a 200lb guy like Evan get a 400+ on FGB. It was Epic!
