Myles: Great work at the games and great work with Travis on your gym.
WODoers: This was a bastard for me. My whole upper body was still shot from Tommy V. I finished the burpees early and just had to gut out the jerks. Had to clean almost every rep, but I did get super frustrated and almost started to cry at the end and somehow in a blind rage I jerked the last 3 in a row. On top of it all, my parrallette is 13" tall, so that sucked ass jumping over it.
Man, do I feel like an idiot. I checked the WOD and read the blog earlier today and wondered what in the hell Justin was talking about with the "finishing the burpees early" comment. I didn't read the "partition this as needed" part of the WOD until the 3rd time reading the workout on the main site - AFTER I DID MY WORKOUT!
Anyway,
20 185# PJ's - 8, 2, 6, 4 40 burpees - 15, 15, 10
TT = 6:46
Trish's grandma ended up coming down with something and is spending her second night in the hospital. So, it doesn't look like we'll be going on our trip to New Orleans...maybe next weekend, but that's a big maybe as well.
Anyway, only 11 work days in Houston left! Later fellas.
Did this one first thing the other morning. I didn't read it correctly myself and did all the PJ's first then the burpees. I scaled the weight to 135# because of the shoulder. I could do it RX'd but that would just be stupid on my part.
Surgery is coming in June or July. Rotator is in fact torn, along with some other shit that's going on inside. I'll be in a sling for 3 weeks and total recovery is going to take 4-6 months. I'll continue with CF, just in a scaled manner.

I'd say we should name this WOD "Chas" since it came up on my birthday, but that seems a bit of a stretch since I had to scale it...
ReplyDelete185# is my 1RM jerk, so I used 155# (85%)

Broke it up into 8-5-4-3 w/ double the burpees between sets.
