2K Row throwdown part Deux?

Dudes, decided to do a 2K row today and went for a PR (previous was 7:15) on sheer will power, cos I definitely am not feeling 100%.

Got it done, 7:10, man I want sub 7, but it seems like a death wish away. I wanted to quit mid way. I am still totally shaking, dizzy, and just feel whacked. Rowing hard crushes you, man what a challenge it is!!!
Chris is coming out here in a few weeks and will get his first taste!

  3. Did you guys see the article on the main crossfit site about how to row faster? I just saw it last night when I logged on, but haven't checked it out yet.

That's a good one too, more specific to the 2K. There is some good wisdom in here, intervals, pyramids, breathing. I do the two breaths per stroke way... and I try not to go too damn hard early. Next time though, I am going to intentionally go easier to start, maybe 1:45 pace the first 500M (I think I was like 1:41 this time), because man does it catch up to you.

  5. Fletcher you rule, rowing however blows! I can't even look at my C2 without a little sphincter clinching and reflexive vomit shooting up in the back of my throat. I need a break form that Bea'hatch.

Way to go on the PR!

  6. Thanks Jacob, it is you that rules though, 7:02? I'm an old man though dammit. I'll catch you someday. You motivate me, since rowing is like the only thing I seem very good at as far as being able to compete with a bad ass like you. I really want to go sub 7, but I thought I was going to die last night! It is amazing what a difference that 10 seconds makes. I want to start off at a 1:45 pace and then save energy for later instead of starting fast... I'll try that. I had the damper on 6 too, I am going to back it down to 4 1/2 and try it that way next time. Experimenting... until I get it!
