CFT

6 comments:

  1. Squats - 375 (PR by 10#)
    Press - 185 (PR by 5#)
    Deads - 395 (PR by 30#)

    Total - 955 (PR by 50#)

Felt like puking during my warm-ups so I went in the bathroom and forced myself to puke. I felt much better after that. I failed at 190 a couple times on press, and at 405 a couple times on deads. My deads still need to go up, but they felt better today than they ever have. Stoked!

  2. Mike. You are really strong. Damn. I hope to get that strong someday, seriously. I just want to get over 900 in the CFT. And to think, Pukey even came. Maybe that was your secret?

My knee is swollen and sore still from all of the running last cycle, so I didn't want to do heavy squats, did something different, but still targeted some of my goats (DL, DU, and shoulder)

    4 rounds
    4 reps DL 300 lb
    8 ring dips
    25 double unders
    5 SP 115 lbs (my 1RM is only 150)

Took 23 minutes. It's those double unders. Although I did have a few sets where I got 5 DU's without having to stop, but can only do 2 in a row without any singles. I got the Valeo jump ropes that Jacob the Terminator rec'd from Amazon. I like it a lot better than my Buddy Lee rope. It's heavier and longer.

Then I did DL 300x8 unbroken just for fun, cos that's what they had to do at the CF regional games qualifiers (4 rounds 8 300 lb DL and 400M run).

Only one beer last night. That's an accomplishment for me. I like beer.

  3. WODoers:

Thanks for getting me fired up Mikey. I should have pulled a 425 on the deadlifts before failing again at 455 and taken you down, but it took everything on the press and squat to tie you.

Deadlift: 405 then got 455 off the ground and hand slipped off the bar
    Press: 175PR!!!
    Squat:370PR for full ROM

    Total: 950

Fuck, I just reread your post and realized you pulled a total of 955...double fuck. Well maybe next time...either way you got me fired up for the best press and squat I have ever done, Thanks Mike.

  4. Freakin' strong guys. Why am I not as strong? What is wrong with me? Well, you do have a year head start, I hope that's all it is.

  5. Those are wicked bad totals guys, impressive to say the least. I need to let my legs rest up from some of the stupid WOD's I've been doing lately but I'm hoping for a 900lb CFT. All I need is some metal 45's to pull a 410lb Deadlift which would be a PR (395lb current PR), tie a PR on a 180lb Shoulder Press and Back Squat 310lbs which would also be a PR (300lb current PR). It's possible, but it's gonna take a crap ton of effort. I'm going to hit it up tomarrow along with the pull-up ladder. I haven't done that WOD with a kipping, unweighted pull-up in almost a year, so I'm hoping for a 27+ rounder, but we'll see. I'm sure I'll let everyone know.

    Here's what I did today...

    "Max"

    5 Rounds of:
Hang Power Clean max reps, Bodyweight
    Deadlift max reps, Bodyweight
*Rest exactly 2 minutes between each movement and count total reps for final score.

    Jacob 168lbs

    HPC 12 DL 20
    HPC 11 DL 20
    HPC 10 DL 25
    HPC 10 DL 25
    HPC 10 DL 23

    HPC 53 DL 113 Total: 166 (180lbs HPC/DL)

    Shane 120lbs

    HPC 6 DL 27
    HPC 4 DL 25
    HPC 5 DL 21
    HPC 5 DL 21
    HPC 2 DL 25

    HPC 22 DL 119 Total: 141 (120lbs HPC/DL)

  6. Kook, with this crew, I gotta take my wins when I can get them.

Fletch, I think it's because you don't have the fatness working for you. All the BW WOD's are harder when you're heavier so WOD's with weights are easier.

A year ago, I would've never thought I'd be doing heavy squats again (without a belt!) after college. Thanks to all for the encouragement everybody provides by simply getting after it day after day.
