I couldn't help but notice a couple of relatively new x-fitters completely crushed me in the snatch push up wod the other day. So in the interest of continuing the motivation that provided to me, I will once again post first and say to the newbies...
Eva as Rx'd 45:54 put that in your pipe and smoke it boys!
Justin, love your competitive fire! Yah, you may have got spanked on that one, but you spank us plenty!! Way to go on Eva! Doing that one RX'd is evil. I have been sick again, barely worth mentioning since I've been sick damn near the whole year. Even had myself tested, everything is normal. Whatever.
Today was my first WOD in 5 days. I did the Fiddy, but everything from K2E on was 30 reps because I was feeling really weak and dizzy and whatnot. Took me a long time, like 27 minutes. I will say that tuck jumps are an insufficient sub for double unders at 1:1. It should be 2:1!! DU's spank me, but I am getting better at them. They just take practice. They are fun cos' they are a skill move.
Justin, how long will we still be newbies? I started 12/31/2008 and Chris this past February. Since you have a year head start, maybe we'll always be newbies. Just like as you age, you're always a "young man" or a "kid" compared to the guy that is 20 years older than you. :-)
Guys, that Valeo jump rope from Amazon that The Terminator recommended is great. I like it better than the Buddy Lee rope. It's longer and heavier. One thing I have been realizing with double unders is that on the rep that you are going to double you have to be very intentional about wrist speed. Today I got like 7 in a row of 1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2, a mini-PR. DU's are cool. Someday I'll get 2 minutes straight of those, which I saw on the main site video is the "gold standard". damn those things wind me!
Wow, times flies when you got enough shit to do everyday. I can't believe its been that long. You guys aren't newbies...so no reason you cant' take down my Eva time. Plus, neither of you was 45# overweight when you started. I will tell you my strategy and see if you can beat my time. Old pr was 48:18 and I wasn't feeling great this a.m., was traveling and in mediation 12 hours yesterday.
So I started with the proposition that 5 10 minute rounds would give me 50 minutes. Then I went like hell in round one and two and got four minutes 17 seconds in front of the fifty minute mark, this fucked me up, but then I just jogged it out and hung on to 10 minute rounds for my PR.
It would actually make my day if either of you guys took that number down, just more motivation. Anyway, I think I posted a decent time for a guy who has to work at a desk 50+ hours a week. Give it hell!
Justin & Jacob awesome times guys. Justin I gave it my all but I came up short. Last time we did this I got a big old DNF. So today I was determined to finish it. Had to use a 70# dumbbell and that sucked ass. It's harder to swing that then it is the kettlebell, at least in my opinion. I was just happy to get the work done. I hope I can move my arms for tommorrow's(today's) WOD.
Chris: Nice time, I know I better get better next time or I will be beat. I use a dumbell too, but I have switched from holding onto the top to holding onto the bar. It felt really weird at first, but it seems to help maintain grip strength throughout the WOD.
WODoers: I think doing 30 pull ups would be less detrimental to my pull ability that 30 2 pood swings. I was able to link 6 p/u in a row in round one and it just went down hill from there.

Gonna try to break 34:00 tomorrow with Eva. I think Evan and I are going to go head to head. Should be a blast.
ReplyDeleteWay to go on the PR Justin, Eva's always a bee'hatch.
I'm a day behind again.

Still catching up. This one isn't one of the nasty girls, but rather a bad bitch.

Felt like puking again today during the running, and overall felt like shit. Don't know what the hell is wrong. Later fellas.
