WODoers: This sucked ass. I haven't been sleeping very good for about a week and its screwed up my diet and energy levels and everything. However, watching that journal video this morning gave me a lot of extra motivation to not be a pussy. Finished the last .25 at 9.5 mph to barely PR. 24:13 of discomfort, but PR by 2 seconds.
Did me a 5K row today. Set a goal to get sub-20 and did it, I'm fired up about that. Went hard final 1K to get the time I wanted. Damper @ 8.
19:56 (PR) I want sub 19 next time. Rest day awaits.
In other news, Pukie visited my garage gym for the first time today. My buddy Brett came over to WOD today too, he's a newbie. Gave him 5 rounds of Barbara with rep counts cut in half, he got 3 1/2 rounds in and yacked pretty hard, a good 5 pukes or so. I hope he sticks with this stuff. He had a big glass of water before the WOD, it was sloshing around and wanted out!
PS - Abstaining from alcohol and trying to eat really clean this week. Slept VERY good last night. Booze is bad for you, but I like it... but I like not drinking it too. Such a conundrum. It is overrated though, I've cut my drinking in half since Justin's inspirational email a while back anyway, and Weaver's comment when I asked about it "it depends on how healthy you want to be!"
Felt good to be running outside. I'm not trying to rub it in to those of you stuck in snow. Just saying treadmills are cool, but they suck too.
5k = 26:38
PR by at least 2 minutes I think. Really had to lean into the last 1k or so to keep on going.
Justin, I could've used the labrador running partners today. I came across two pair of mallards in the park. They were tame though, not the attacking kind.
I, too, ran outside today. Beautiful day to run through the piles of melting snow. Knew I had to push it as runnig on the treadmill does that for you. I think this is a PR for running outside but definately not one overall. 23:00 Finished up yesterdays WOD afterwards. Am posting that back there. Later dudes...
Craig challenged me to a 5k row-off, so I accepted. His time was 19:56, mine 23:25. I pushed it as hard as I could but couldn't keep pace. Need to work on my breathing skills on the rower, I continue to loose my breath. Later.
Hit the treadmill with a 1/2 hour before my next clients, started it up and went for it. First .75 at 7.0 then to 7.5 until 1.25 went to 8.0. at 1.6 went to 8.5 then 9.0 and finished the last 1/2 mile at 9.5. This whole WOD took some convincing to keep running and run hard rather than slow down, I try to never slow down once I get to a speed. GOOD SWEAT! 23:14(pr) last one was 23:56 or something like that.
