Sweet filthy Myles and Travis. I've been playing around with the chest to bar and its a whole different enchillada.
Fucking smoked it again. This was a good cycle for me beside the dead lift. 17:45 pr! It's crazy, I can now take a 20 second recovery break at 7.5mph in the 3 rd and then get back to motorin over 8mph, and when I started I couldn't run the whole first 800 at 6.5mph and even run the entire 3rd 800. Thanks coach and thank all you guys for the continued motivation, it can get pretty tough to go do this shit by yourself at a globo gym at 5:45a.m., but I always feel like I am doing it as part of a team and that my time matters beyond myself, even if I'm the only crazy bastard fliing sweat 5 feet in the air as I rip off 50 back extensions.
Justin whatever you have been doing keep doing it. Your diet, sleep pattern, stress levels, hydration level, your motivation, all of it. It worked this week that's for sure, Keep the ball rollin. Once you get it figured out you can't stop it.
Justin, your mental strength is going to take you far in life, I guarantee it. All of you guys are unusually great in this area!!! It's what separates you from the whiners!
Morey, lookin good in the uniform. I would be glad to write a workout and name it after you in exchange for you comin home safe. Thank you for representing our country over there! Thanks for your CrossFit the Army is getting you at your strongest in years.
Edward adds a quiet footnote, "love my GHD, but still getting used to it. Last WOD with BE's and Situps, 090331, I got 75 (3 rds x 25). This time I failed at 100. Lower back gets tight from the BEs and no more worky. So 2 rds + 800m. Total Time: DNF."
Captain Morey, I'm a Navy vet myself. I never was in harms way on the aircraft carrier. Be safe and return home as soon as possible. Thank you for serving this great country of ours.
Michael
Didn't break any records today. Not a fast runner, but getting better.
05:30 here in CST. Completed this at near sea level. New PR here today. Did Supermans as I always do on this one. TT: 20:21

ReplyDeleteMorey, although I don't know you I share TW's wish for your safe return.
ReplyDeleteWOD, back extensions were killer. Sit-ups were a welcome change just to not be doing back extensions.
TT = 23:34
Goal was to average less than an 8 minute round. Runs were slower than what I'd hoped for, but I'll take it.
Have a good weekend. I think I'll get to the DL's I missed Wednesday tomorrow. Happy rest day!
Mike

I am inclined to say you're a lock for the games, but who knows. There are a lot of bad ass mofo's out there in their garages, guys like you!

ReplyDeleteThanks, but I can't squat heavy to save my life and I know this is going to catch me in Denver, but who knows.
ReplyDeleteMy old times for last years games were...
Fran CTB 3:48
DL/Burpee 3:36 (285lbs DL)
Squat C&J 7:58
Run...? I can run pretty fast so I think I'm okay.
These times are about 4 months old though.
The probplem is I can't deadlift fast or heavy, and squating with weight really fatigues the hell out of me. My Nancy time is like 15 Minutes.
Thanks fellas!
ReplyDeleteWent and did the back squats this afternoon in uniform. Will post there.
