Inverted Burpees

100 Inverted Burpees
Travis, I found your boat!! It's at dry dock near Helsinki, Finland. As you can see, it's being upgraded to the 2.0 version. From what the Finnish deck hand told me, it's going through an 80's style A-Team upgrade which will include jet propellers, side-mounted machine guns, a Mr. T-made flame thrower, and a launching pad for Murdoch's home made helicopter. They are very thankful for your donation to help in the battle with the Somalian pirates.

  1. WOD Crew,

Today was fun. I haven't had the chance to try inverted burpees yet. The gym recently just put in a mat in the center of the gym and there just happens to be a cement pillar next to one end of the mat. I first did a few trial runs of the inverteds and nearly fell on my head one time and missed the pillar with one foot on another.

During the workout, I found my rhythm at about reps 20-80. Did this in sets of 10 with short rests as it seemed to help me regain my balance.

    Total Time = 17:56

This one sneaks up on you. I think I must have been more focused on not falling on my head rather than how hard the inverteds were. Then, on my bike ride home I started to feel that my shoulders, hips, low back, and quads didn't wnat to work any more. Later fellas.

  2. That is funny shit Mike. I am going to hang out with Helen today. I still do not have a matt to deal with the evilness that is the inverted burppee. I think if I hold my neck right I am still sore from when we did these six months ago.

  3. Mike - that rules. You're a nut.

WODuders - For reasons that you already know, I skipped the inverted burpees, but would like to come back to it some day. Throat and lungs burning from yesterday's WOD cos' I'm not better yet... hacking up serious green gobbers.

    Today I did this:

1K row, 40 box jumps, stretch... then

    4 rounds, not for time

225 lb back squat, 8 reps
70 pound bastard KB swings 8 reps

All sets unbroken. Just got the 2 pood tank bastard the other day, first time using it. I like swinging that sumbitch. Glad to have him join the garage gym arsenal. $90 on sale.

Oh, between round 3 and 4 I got a PR back squat of 305 lbs, no spotter, no fail racks. Pretty stupid to do that. I can do more weight, but 305 felt pretty hard. I don't want to get too dangerous out there on my own. Felt a tweak/twinge down there in the area of hernias on my way up too. I like back squats, they make me really sore so I know they work me over. Recently I did 50 reps of 215 back squats and my ass and quads hurt for many days after.

I really want a GHD!! It's next on the hit list, I have to talk my wife into it. They cost a lot. In 6 weeks, it shall be mine. Then a 1 pood KB, a rogue bar, and I'm done, I'll have it all. Sweet.

  4. Can't do handstand Push-ups yet. I did my warm-up for time, 3 rounds of 500m row, 15 GHDs, 10 Pullups, 15 Squats, 10 BEs, 5 Ring Dips. Got 7:02, 8:05, and 8:33, tt 23:40. Then to work up to the HSPU, I did 75# SP, PP, and PJ in 10/20/30, 5/10/15, and 2/3/5 reps. Not the same I know, could had done all Shoulder Presses, but wanted to work on the dip/drive and jump form of the other two in addition to the overhead, also this allowed me to get the added reps.

  5. Snowboarded for 6 hours on Saturday. CrossFit has prepared me well to make non stop runs on slush bumps.

I love the Boat, that this is awesome. The A Team was one of my top 3 shows ever when I was a kid. I don't ever remember Mr. T saying 'I ain't gettin in no boat Hanibal. Thanks!
