EVA T

  1. WODoers:

Slow and steady wins the race with Eva. It is amazing how hard simple pull ups are after kettle bell swings.

As Rx'd: 48:19 PR by over 6 minutes. And no walking.

Lots of skin removal from hands. Tried taping them up, but doing swings with dumbell caused tape to bunch up and fall off.

  2. Justin, you kicked me ass soooo bad. I did 3 rounds RX'd in 34 minutes and I am done. Cannot feel my forearms, hard to type. I want my $100 back for that 2 pood KB. That thing is stupid. Have to help my dad move all day in the heat so I thought better of going all 5 rounds, plus the kids are up and I have to get them off to daycare. Excuses, excuses.... that was nasty. Justin, really.. you are STRONG buddy.

  3. And yes, I did run... but had to do more like fast power walking to avoid the impact to my left knee. At least I did 3 rounds the right way though. The thought of subbing rowing for running when you have heavy KBs and pullups sounded terrible.

  4. Last Eva was 35 minutes and some change, or somewhere there abouts, I remember OPT was 35:52 and I was shooting to beat him and did, although that was a treadmill run. This should be tough. Going to do it right now.

    Later

Justin, I could not imagine all the damn running you are doing lately are you on some special program or something you came up with?

  5. Fletcher: You are doing good man. All that really happens is if you eat fairly good and work out hard, then the area under the curve increases.

Jacob: Yeah, I trained for about 7 weeks to run that half marathon. I followed the main site for the first 4 weeks with added sprints and runs, and then the last 3 weeks was my own programing. I was happy. I finished the race just two minutes shy of my goal and I gained strenth and speed. I think I am going to keep the sprints in my training.

Your Eva time is ridiculous. How many pullups can you do in a row by round 3? I am usually down to sets of 2 by then.

  6. Not much to say. the WOD's speak for themselves.

    Eva

    5 rounds for time of:
    800m Run
    30 KBS, 2 Pood
    30 Pull-ups

    34:01 Rx'd

Set the timer on my watch for 3.5 minute 800's, which was easy to keep pace with till the end. Then I gave myself 2 minutes to do the KBS 15/15, and 75 seconds to do the pull-ups 10/10/10. Fell a little bit off my time on the last 2 rounds, but over all it felt better then the last time and I think it was a little faster too.

    15-20 minute rest then...

    2007 CrossFit Games Hopper

    For Time:
    1000m Row
    5 rounds of,
    25 Pull-ups
    7 Push Jerks, 135lbs

    Jacob 11:04 Rx'd (PR)

(Started the watch myself and stopped it myself so I think that added some time to it.)

I was psyched with my time today on the hopper since the CrossFit games twitter site posted that Khalipa got a 12:31 on this WOD which was faster than AFT, Speal, Everett and OPT. I had done this WOD before with 155lbs from a rack and got a 13:09, so I was hoping for a pretty fast time with 135lbs, but picking the weight off the floor when you're spent can really mess things up.

Will post the video in the next day or so.

  7. Justin & Jacob you guys are seriously bad ass dudes. Your times amaze me. I've only been doing CF for a solid 5 months now and this one ranks up there with one of the hardest ones I've done. I've got a long way to go before I'm anywhere near you two.

3 Rounds RX'd except I used a 70lb dumbbell for the swings. I lost my grip after the third round and could do no more pullups. It was a struggle to finish. Volleyball is going to be fun tonight, my arms are dead.

    TT: 32:21 DNF

  8. Jacob - WHAT?? Your Eva time is faster than anyone's on the main site comments. That's serious!!

Then, right after that CRAZY WOD you do the CF Games Hopper WOD beat the current CF games champion by a mile, and all the other famous badasses? You are a special athlete my friend. If you could get the heavy stuff better you'd be a force, everyone would know who Jacob Szafranski is. Your body is strong too, so maybe you need to spend time with a coach and really work on form to get the heavy stuff better? I don't know, I just know that you could literally be famous in CF world if you got the heavy stuff. Doesn't Everett weight 185 or so? Somehow that dude can clean and jerk more than anyone in the games. I'd love to see you get there man, because I think you have the potential to blow the CrossFit community away, globally.

  9. Yeah I'll so em alright, with my jaw dropping 280lb back squat and my 220lb front squat. Oh and how could I forget my beastly 390lb deadlift.

I hear you though, give me a WOD that has some running, pull-ups, and overhead work and I'll give you a highlight reel, but if it involves squats, aside from air squats. Just save yourself the trouble and get out the pooper scooper and stick a fork in me, cause I'm done.

As Shooter McGavin would say, those WOD's eat pieces of $&%* like me for breakfast... For now anyways.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Craig, I need it.

  10. Get that heavy stuff figured out! Perfect your form, get a coach, then blow the CF world away! You have THE WIND like no other.
