G.I. Jane (100 burpee pullups)

Hey men. Out here in NY in a hotel. I did 100 burpees, first 50 4:08 (PR) TT on the 100 9:58 (PR cos' I never did it, pushed very hard at the end to get under 10. Pukey!)

Then I did 5 rounds of 20 pushups with exactly 1 minute of rest in between. All sets unbroken if you include resting in plank position but never letting knee touch unbroken. This was very hard for me. Primal noises and grunts emitted during final two rounds.

The gym here was gay, a few treadmills and elipticals and a few dumbbells. I couldn't do down there and do a bunch of burpees, didn't have it in me. Didn't want to scare anyone with my "mess you up" shirt on. All I needed today was a 6'x7' patch of carpet. tomorrow wqill probably be exactly one assload of lunges and squats in the room.

  1. Good to have you back Tornado! Fuckin smokin Grace.

WODoers: Not set up to do this, so I did 5 burpees 1 muscle up as many rounds as possible in 15 minutes. I got 14 rounds and 2 burpees. Failed on the muscle up in round 6 and after that every muscle up involved a lot of yelling and cursing, but I got them done.

  2. TT: 12:17

Not exactly RX'd for the pull-up part of the equation, but 100 burpees is a 100 burpees no matter how you look at it. My bar is in my basement so it's mounted about 7' 4" off the ground. Burpees were strict and sucked ass. I'm sure truly RX'd my time would be a couple minutes more.

  3. I'll catch up eventually. Still running a day behind, as today was a travel/rest day for me. I did DLs yesterday, posted there.

  4. You all missed out on a fun one today. My rings weren't exactly one foot above my reach, but at least a few inches out of reach (equal to my vertical).

    As Rx'ed, TT = 27:18

I know my time isn't exactly setting the word on fire, but I know that I accomplished something I have never done before - which is a good feeling.

Safe travels to the travelers. Later fellas.

  5. Did this today, no good set up for the pull ups so did burpees w/ a 1 foot box to jump on.

    TT: 12:43

Short break, then 50 DUs. No PR but certainly able to string more and more DUs together. I switched to a heavier rope which sure made it easier to get the rope around faster. TT: 1:23

  7. I didn't do this exactly as rx'd. My basement PU bar is only at about 7' so I did regular burpees (w/ jump) and then PUs, basically toe-assisted ones. I don't know if this made it easier or just slowed me down. Either way, I paced way too much at the beginning, should have been faster.

    Anyway, 15:20
