Walter

I know the named WODs are reserved for military and first responders, but this work out sure reminded me of watching "Sweetness" do wind sprints on his hands.

  1. WODoers: Not just a chink in my armour, but coach found a gigantic missing piece in my armour. I mostly practiced hand stand holds and did a shit load of situps waiting for arms to recover for 20 minutes. I need to get much better at these.

  2. Wow!! I knew there was a no way on the walking on my hands, but thought I would give a good go on the handstand and go with as many HSPUs I could do. Well, the HSPUs didn't go far or go at all after the first 2 minutes of handstand. 2 negatives then switched to a very high incline push-up w/ my feet on top of my bunk bed, which was obviously way easier because I was able to do them all unbroken. The 120 seconds of handstand were broken up a lot.

Thought my head was going to explode! Placed a watch by my head so I could watch the seconds tick away to keep track of time passed.

    TT: ~21:56 -ish

  4. Saw this one last night and was wondering how most would attack it.

As a Bears fan that grew up watching Walter Payton and Mike Singletary, I am completely behind naming this one Walter. I recently read, "Never Die Easy," one of the Walter Payton (somewhat) auto-biograhies. It jumped around a lot which made it hard to follow at some points, but was hard to put down as well. Either way, it gave me a new appreciation for "Sweetness."

Hot Front Desk Girl Follow-Up: Hot front desk girl was working last night, so I stopped on my way out. We talked a while, then I asked her out for a drink. She said yes and gave me a call on my phone and said to call her sometime. Come to find out, she has a name other than hot front desk girl. I forgot it though.

  5. Mike - For our benefit, can we just keep her name as "hot front desk girl?" Make sure you post a picture soon, we have to confirm she deserves such a name of course.

  7. Nobody can ever accuse Crossfit from being redundant. I did my handstand holds with heels against the wall, which doesn't really count but it's the best I can do right now. And, for walking on my hands (fists for me with old wrist injury), I walked backwards up the wall until in HS position 5 times per round.

    Round 1: 4 drops, 5 backwards walk-ups
    Round 2: 15 drops, 5 BWU's
    Round 3: 25 drops, 5 BWU's

Couldn't seem to stay upright on the HS holds in rounds 2 and 3. Finished in 20-22 minutes. Didn't really keep track since I knew I was a not as Rx'ed, DNF.

Have a good Friday. Later fellas.

  8. Nothing RX'd about this one for me. I tried it just for the heck of it. Walking on my hands just wasn't happening so I did the handstand holds and hspu's. The holds were really hard and I couldn't hold it for 2 minutes. So I broke it up into blocks of 30-45 seconds. My arms would start shaking and it was rather hilarious.

I didn't keep track of time. More of a play time in my gym last night,it was fun.

    Enjoy rest day fellas.

  9. I've been a mess the past two days. I have a harmless heart condition called "Premature Ventricular Contractions" (PVC's) and it makes my heart flutter crazy for a few seconds and then it gets back in sync but it also takes my breath away. It doesn't happen very often at all, maybe every few months. Again, it doesn't hurt you and it's common so don't worry boys, I'm not going anywhere.

Well last night I got a wave of these throughout the night and it kept me up a lot, a whole lot. I barely slept. On top of that, my son has had severe respiratory illness this week, he can hardly breath at night. So I haven't WO'd the past two days. No sleep, and was feeling really unstable this morning from those damn PVCs.
