Toughest WOD I can remember. Burpees killed me. I still feel like puking 45 minutes after being done: (1:32,3:48,1:50)(2:43,4:17,2:12)(2:37,5:02,2:27) (3:15,5:10,2:20)(2:43,5:37,1:37)TT=47:19
Our heroes did good today. 125 guys, only top 40 go to day 2. Myles got 40th, Weaver 66th. I called Travis, he said it was fun and awesome. I argued that they should start doing the CF games by weight class, TW disagreed. I mean... a 150lb guy cleaning 125% of his BW competing against guys over 185? I said "that doesn't seem fair to me, think about fighting and wrestling"... Tornado goes "that's why CF is a better sport... and you're right, not everything is fair. If we both got pinned under a car, we'd both have to get out regardless of our size."
Now THAT, is a winner's attitude.
Good job dudes. Myles, take it to em' tomorrow.
Man this sport is growing. TW and ML are STUDS, and apparently there are lots of other bad ass dudes out there. Tough region!
Our qualifiers are in two weeks, I'll be there as a volunteer and fan, and will write out a report.
Later....
PS - I am progressing slower than I hoped, still have good sharp pains in shoulder and wrist. When will it end? Ughh......
Hope the shoulder gets better soon... What did you end up having to get done? All I know is that all the recovery times they were telling me when I was having my shoulder problems were quite lengthy, almost 3 months in some cases.
Let me know the prognosis, and thanks.
I think Evan and I might do the Hell's Half Acre WOD's tomorrow, that is if I am up for it. My CNS is shot after TSE and I haven't slept more then 4 hrs in a single stretch in almost a week. I'm pulling 24's at the FD only to get off and have 11 hours until I have to work in the ER from 7P-7A, and this “Swine Flu” business is F’ing ridiculous (there were 50 people in the waiting room my last shift). It's unfortunate that this is going on right up till the qualifier, but I got to pay the bills and the good old garage gym's revenue is about -100$ a month. So WTF you only live once.
Scaled to 1.5 pood(55# dumbbell) and ABMat for the situps. So not Rx'd. I tried the 2 pood and it was too much. I could swing it, but there was no way I could have done 150 of those and I wanted to finish. This was one of the hardest WOD's I've ever done. 150 Burpees is just plain cruel. 5 Rounds was brutal.
Moving from place to place over the weekend so I got this one in on Sunday after moving in to a hotel. I agree with everybody else. This one was tough. I seemed to find my rhythm on the 4th round, but it was too little too late.

Can't wait to hear results from the qualifiers.

ReplyDeleteFive rounds for time of:
2 pood Kettlebell swing, 30 reps
30 Burpees
30 Glute-ham sit-ups
Jacob 25:58 Rx'd
Thought my freaking head was going to explode, it's still pounding even hours after the WOD.
Jacob, you are a freak of nature.

Denver and counting!
Scaled to 1.5 pood, don't have a 2, not ready for it yet anyway. After Liz and TSE I was whipped, and only got 3 rounds of this in 36:17.
